Sounds of the Earth: Music and Nature in Harmony

CMOTF welcomes back the Chicago Harp Quartet, an ensemble dedicated to presenting innovative and charismatic programs to stages and audiences of all sorts. This program brings together the elements of nature and the beauty of music, prompting us all to reflect on the inherit connection both have to our innermost selves. This concert will feature pieces such as Sun Moon and Stars by Hariette Adie, Soiree d’Ete (Summer Evening) by Bernard Andres, and Cuban Dream After the Storm by Alfredo Rolando Ortiz. Join us for a special evening to sit, be still, and enjoy the symbiosis of music and nature as one beautiful experience.

Make summer nights classic with concerts featuring Chicago’s best classical musicians and ensembles. Founded by Deborah Sobol in 2000, Rush Hour Concerts are the perfect way to relax after a workday and soak up some beautiful music in a short but lovely format. The best ensembles in the city perform programs designed to enliven commuters and make the most of summer. Each concert is live streamed through the CMC website and excerpted performances are often broadcast on 98.7 WFMT radio.

The concerts will be held in the historic sanctuary, 256 E. Chicago St. It features a new state-of-the-art audio visual system which was completed last spring. Doors open at 3 p.m, Concert is at 4pm.
